  • Vanika

    Vanika

    Date: February 2021

    Commissioned by: Vanika

Comments by the client: “I commissioned Lautaro C.G. a logo for a brand of clothing and lingerie.
It had to be an ace of spades surrounded by patrons and curlicues and with the name Vanika in the middle.
He made an impeccable and well finished work. The experience of working with Lautaro C.G. was positive and I recommend it to others for future illustrations”.

    The process

    The original idea:
This was the original idea given from Vanika. This required to be well shaped and the curlicues had to be added.
    What I did:
The first thing was to transform those shapes into what Vanika had in mind. So I draw the left side using vectors in Inkscape program. Then dupplicated and flipped to get the other side. I kept the letters just as Vanika draw them. For the curlicues I draw all of them on the drawing tablet and then I vectorized them by hand.
The final step was to choose the colors and try other options. Since it was intended for lingerie the red letters sounded like a good idea.

  • Jugger Argentina

    Jugger Argentina

    Date: 2016
    Commissioned by: Jugger Argentina
Used for: logo of the Argentinian Jugger Association.
Purpose: It had to gather the essence of the sport and be very distinctive from the logos of other countries. So I made it using some iconic elements of the sport combined with the argentinian flag in the shape of a mate, the traditional argentinian drink.
Process and comments: I created this logo when I didn’t have any knowledge on how to use vectors, which is essential for making logotypes and designs in general. I made first several sketches with pencil on paper. Then I made a clean and bigger version also on paper and inked with pens. Then I scanned it and made it as clean as I could using a design program.
Nowadays it would have been much easier and with a better result just by using inkscape, an open source program for working with vectors.

What I like the most from this design is how the elements are combined. The black sticks from the sport simulate the “straw” of the mate, and how the flag is in the shape of the mate, I just find that cool. The result is clearly something from Argentina and for those who know the sport it is also evident that it is the logo for the Jugger Argentina Association.

    The design in use:

It has been used in web pages, forums, rulebooks, trophies…

  • 8 Herraduras

    8 Herraduras

    Date: 2014
Commissioned by: 8 Herraduras Jugger Team
Used for: This logo was used as the icon of the team. It’s been used for all their needs, from t-shirts to banners and so on.
Purpose: It had to say “8 Herraduras”, which means eight horseshoes and there had to be a Sleipneir, the eight legged horse from the nordic mithology.

I really like the colours but what I really love from this design is the style of the eight legged horse, Sleipnir.

The design in use: This logo was used in several products. Mainly in the team clothing but also in some merchandising.

  • I TIA

    I T.I.A.

    Date: 2016
    Commissioned by: Jugger Argentina
Used for: This logo stands for “1 Torneo Internacional Argentino”, first international tournament, which was made for the sport jugger tournament.
Purpose: It had to look sporty and attractive while clearly showing the initials.

Process and comments: I created this logo when I didn’t have any knowledge on how to use vectors, which is essential for making logotypes and designs in general. I made first several sketches with pencil on paper. At first without using rules, just to get the idea I liked the best. Then I made a clean and bigger version also on paper, but using rules and a compass. Then I took a picture of this and made it as clean as I could using a design program. Nowadays it would have been much easier and with a better result just by using inkscape, an open source program for working with vectors.

I still like this, the sporty look and how the letters are connected to create something you can remember with a single look.

The design in use: This logo was used in several products, such as trophies, medals, t-shirts and posters.
